Relative to the property boundary line, the location the proposed on-site
groundwater monitoring well will be advanced in the area of well MW-29 on the eastern
edge of the site to evaluate the vertical extent of the hydrocarbon plume.
The proposed monitoring well location is illustrated in Figure 2 and in cross-sectional view
in Figure 3.
3.5. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY
The proposed pilot soil boring will be single-completed as a groundwater monitoring well
with well screen installed from approximately 75 feet to 85 feet bsg. The screened interval
depth may vary or be reduced overall according to hydrogeologic conditions encountered
while drilling. Following installation, the well will be developed to maximize water flow and
minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or
bailing. The top of the newly installed well casing (well head) will be surveyed to determine
its elevation relative to North American Vertical Datum 88. An as built diagram of the
proposed well construction has been included as Figure 4.
3.6. GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
Following the installation of the new monitoring well, groundwater monitoring and
sampling activities will be conducted at the well on a semi-annual basis for a minimum of
one year (two sampling events); monitoring activities will include recording depth to
groundwater measurements and collection of groundwater samples for laboratory
analysis by a CDPH-certified laboratory for the analytes noted in Section 3.3.
3.7. PREPARATION OF REPORT OF FINDINGS
A report documenting the findings of the soil borings, well installation, development and
survey will be prepared following performance of field work and receipt of all applicable
data. Additionally, reports will be prepared following each groundwater monitoring event.
Each report will include a description of work performed and the results of the
groundwater sampling and analysis. Conclusions and recommendations will also be
included, if applicable for each report. All reports will be in a format acceptable to the
CRWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist.
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of
a California Professional Geologist.
