been reported to be non-detect since. Groundwater samples collected from MW-101 and MW-
105 reported minor concentrations of TPHg and BTEX compounds during the first few sampling
events but then remained non-detect below laboratory reporting limits. Ground Zero
recommends pressure grouting and over-drilling the upper three (3) of these wells.
MW-202
MW-202 was constructed with a steel conductor casing to a depth of 50 feet bgs, Ground Zero
recommends pressure grouting and not over-drilling out the upper three (3) feet due to the steel
conductor casing
VEW-1 through VEW-6
These wells are constructed to a total depth of 10 feet bgs and are limited to the vadose zone.
VEW-3 through VEW-6 are located within the Site building and cannot be destroyed using a drill
rig. Ground Zero recommends pressure grouting and over-drilling the upper three (3) feet of
VEW-1 and VEW-2. Ground Zero recommends pressure grouting and not over-drilling out the
upper three (3) feet of VEW-3 through VEW-6 due to access issues.
Waste Removal
Following SJCEHD approval of this well abandonment work plan, Ground Zero will remove all
equipment and waste associated with the UST clean up. Equipment associated with the soil vapor
extraction and air sparge systems will be removed. Granulated carbon will be removed from the
carbon tanks located on the Site and will be properly disposed of. Following the well destruction
process, all drummed soil and groundwater will be removed and properly disposed of.
Documentation of the waste disposal will be included in a site closure summary report.
Permitting
The permit applications, Master File Records and fees have been enclosed.
Schedule and Reporting
Following SJCEHD approval of the well destruction permits the work will be scheduled. A
summary of the well destruction and site closure activities will be presented in a report, including
a discussion of the well destruction efficiency (grout volume used versus grout volume
calculations). Copies of the report will be submitted to both the appropriate County and State
regulatory agencies.
If you have any questions or comments please contact Ground Zero at your convenience.
Respectfully,
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc.

Andrew Dorn, B.S.
