0 0 Page 1 of 3
Natalia Subbotnikova [ H]
From: Yekta, Gino [Gino.Yekta@CaIRecycle.ca.gov]
Sent: Wednesday, February 22, 2012 1:29 PM
To: Robert McClellon [EH]
Cc: Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]; Wochnick, Michael; mcarroll@sjgov.org
Subject: RE: Gas Probe Modifications-answers to questions
Calrecycle has reviewed the responses provided by the Operator and would like to provide you with the following
based on our review of the responses.
CalRecycle does not recommend the design change proposal by the Operator because:
1. Our procedures do not contain "purging"of compliance wells (regardless of what has been stated by the
Operator, they are purging the probes)
2. Tygon/Teflon/polyethylene tubing can potentially be impacted by the atmosphere created within the wells.
With that said, since our procedures are just that, "procedures", and not contained in regulations, and that we
understand there are other procedures used to monitor for gas,we will not object to the request by the Operator as
long as:
1. The monitoring is not compromised as a result of the new design change
2. Certification from the Operator/consultant that the new design will function the same way as the original
design.
3. If issues discovered with the new design, the Operator will immediately change to the original design,
Please call (916-341-6354)or e-mail me if you have any questions. Thanks....................Gino
From: Yekta, Gino
Sent: Tuesday, February 07, 2012 4:19 PM
To: Robert McClellon [EH]
Cc: Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]; Wochnick, Michael; mcarroll@sjgov.org
Subject: RE: Gas Probe Modifications - answers to questions
I'll review the responses and will get back to you.
From: Robert McClellon [EH] [RMcClellon@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Tuesday, February 07, 2012 4:01 PM
To: Yekta, Gino
Cc: Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
Subject: FW: Gas Probe Modifications -answers to questions
Gino, see below for the response from County Public Works Dept.
