Measurements were
taken with the newly improved monitoring probes.
All perimeter migration monitoring probes were below the regulatory limit of 5%. The highest
concentration (1.4%) was found at probeGW-3-deep. We will pay close attention to this probe in the
future.
Structures were also found to be far below regulatory limits of 1.25%. We detected slight combustible
gas concentrations, not exceeding 0.2%, in the foundation of two of the structures we monitored.
Note that this detection was not in the structure itself, but in the rock beneath the foundation.
These measurements were made possible by the enhancement of the monitoring apparatus, similar to
the enhancements to the perimeter migration monitoring wells. I am not surprised to find a very slight
amount in the soil, and am pleased that we can now document, with confidence, the safety of those
dwellings.
If you have any questions, please contact me at extension 8-8504.
Sincerely,
WMD— f4t
W.
