IMG-0489. Inspection Room-spent Ardrox 970P25E Penetrant and waste water containing Ardrox 970P25E <br /> Penetrant. The wastes are discharged to the on-site septic tank. <br /> 2. IMG_0511. Grinding/Polishing Room-metal fines mixed with polish media. The waste is disposed of in the <br /> trash. <br /> 3. IMG-0531. Etch Room-spent NuEtch E3(KOH)mixed with etched metal, DeSmut NS3(nitric and sulfuric acid) <br /> mixed with etched metal, rinse water containing NuEtch/DeSmut and etched metal. Approximately three times a <br /> year, 50 gallons of waste is mixed together and discharged to the on-site septic tank. <br /> 4. IMG_0555, IMG-0551. Assembly Area-A Morgan Lathe and a grinder generate metal fines waste. The waste <br /> is disposed of in the trash. <br /> 5. IMG-0559. Paint Room-Spent paint fume hood filters are disposed of in the trash. <br /> 6. IMG-0566. Cleaning Room-Grit Guy bead blaster machine used to clean metal parts generates spent media <br /> containing metal and paint dust. The waste is disposed of in the trash. <br /> 7. IMG_0587, 0588. Cleaning Room-Two bead blaster machines used to clean metal parts generates spent media <br /> containing metal and paint dust.The waste is disposed of in the trash. <br /> 8. IMG-0593. Blade Room-Shot pea machine generates spent shot pea media. The waste is disposed of in the <br /> trash. Shot pea media needs replacement within 6 months according to the technician working in this area. <br /> 9. IMG-0599. Blade Room-Grinding area generates metal dust which is disposed of in the trash. <br /> 10.Warehouse. Five gallons of old latex paint need a hazardous waste determination. If the paint is determined to <br /> be waste then dispose of properly and provide disposal documentation. <br /> The facility did not provide documentation that the wastes are non-hazardous per Title 22 California Code of <br /> Regulations and California Health&Safety Code. The facility repairs metal airplane propeller parts. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste <br /> as specified in Title 22 California Code of Regulations(CCR). There are wastes that are listed as hazardous <br /> wastes. There are wastes that exhibit one or more of the hazardous waste characteristics:toxic, corrosive, reactive <br /> or ignitable. <br /> Title 22 CCR section 66261.2—Definition of Waste <br /> Title 22 CCR section 66261.3—Definition of Hazardous Waste <br /> A business operator shall keep records of any hazardous waste determinations made in accordance with Title 22 <br /> California Code of Regulations(CCR)section 66262.11 for at least three years from the date that the waste was last <br /> sent to an on-site or off-site treatment, storage,or disposal facility. The records may include Safety Data Sheets <br /> (SDS), waste test results or other hazardous waste determination documentation. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately make a hazardous waste determination for each waste , and manage it <br /> according to Title 22 CCR. Use Safety Data Sheets(SDS),waste sampling and test results or other knowledge to <br /> support your hazardous waste determination. Waste testing must be done using methods specified in Title 22 CCR <br /> including sections 66261.20-24. <br /> Submit a statement and supporting documentation with your hazardous waste determinations. Demonstrate current <br /> storage and labeling for wastes determined to be hazardous wastes.
