Stockton Propeller, Inc., OCI Case #15242
Date Samples Collected: June 3, 2021
samples near where it was collected (Attachment 2: Photographic Log, Photos IMG_4390 to
4396).
Sample SP-05AIB:
The samples were collected in the warehouse from an unlabeled,
one third full, white poly 55 -gallon container with no top
(Attachment 1: Site and Sample Maps). Again, M. Belmont and
Stockton Propeller, Inc. staff confirmed that the unlabeled
container was another "Alodine" rinse solution. In photo
IMG_4398.jpg you can see that they use a heating band around
the drum to accelerate evaporation of the rinse water. No gases
were detected by the MultIRAE during monitoring of the drum.
Lew collected the samples from the "Alodine" rinse solution using
a new, clean, Coliwasa tube and transferred the sample into a
new, clean, clear 32 -ounce glass jar and a clean, amber 16 -
ounce jar. Each lid was secured once sampling was completed.
The samples collected were a dark brown liquid. Friend placed
labels on each jar along with evidence tape on the individual lids.
The samples were tested with pH paper (pH 3.0 for both jars)
during the sampling process. Sales photographed the samples
near where they were collected (Attachment 2: Photographic
Log, Photos IMG 4397 to 4407).
Photo: IMG 4398
Sample SP -06:
The sample was collected next to the entrance in the warehouse from an unlabeled, one quarter
full, blue poly 55 -gallon container with cut away top (Attachment 1: Site and Sample Maps).
Stockton Propeller, Inc. staff could not confirm what was in the unlabeled container. They
believed it to be just rainwater and had been there for a while. The container contained a clear
liquid with a scum layer on the surface. No gases were detected by the MultiRAE during
monitoring of the drum.
Lew collected the sample from the blue poly 55 -gallon container using a new, clean, Coliwasa
tube and transferred the sample into a new, clean, clear 32 -ounce glass jar and closed the lid.
The sample collected was a cloudy clear liquid. Friend then placed a label on the jar along with
evidence tape on the lid. The sample was tested with pH paper (pH 6.0) during the sampling
process. Sales photographed the sample near where it was collected (Attachment 2:
Photographic Log, Photos IMG_4408 to 4414).
Sample SP -07:
The sample was collected in the "Cleaning Room" from a 5 -gallon, orange, home depot bucket
that M. Belmont said the contents of the bucket were removed as a waste from the "Grit Guy"
cleaning units filter the previous day (Attachment 1: Site and Sample Maps). As with Samples
SP -08 and SP -09, M. Belmont stated that all of the material from the filter compartments were
discarded as a waste into the trash up until the May CUPA site visit. The contents of the bucket
were a light grey, fine powder, solid material. Myers noted the MultiRAE detected low levels of
VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in the "Cleaning Room".
Page: 6
