Church Street, Lodi, CA <br />Hardhat. <br />Work boots. <br />Safety glasses with side shields. <br />All personnel who may come into direct skin contact with contaminated materials shall wear the <br />above described PPE clothing, in addition to the following as necessary to prevent contact with the <br />site materials: <br />Nitrile or neoprene gloves (when handling contaminated soils and equipment). <br />Tyvek or equivalent disposable coveralls. <br />Chemical splash goggles (to prevent splash into the eyes). <br />Unnecessary contact with potentially contaminated residues shall be avoided as much as possible. <br />Clean Area PPE Requirements <br />Work outside contaminated areas shall require the use of EPA level D protective equipment normal <br />to the construction industry. Typically, this consists of hard hats, safety footwear, normal work <br />clothing, and safety glasses as necessary. <br />6. Employee Training <br />It is unlikely that site activities will result in exposure to health hazards other than those associated <br />with construction activities. As a precaution, the Project Manager, Site Supervisor, and/or Health <br />and Safety Officer will be familiar with this HASP, and will periodically review site safety procedures <br />and site conditions. <br />Furthermore all site personnel shall be familiar with the contents and requirements of this EHASP. <br />This information shall be presented at a project start-up tailgate safety meeting mandatory for all <br />site personnel. The Health and Safety Officer will conduct this meeting. <br />During field work, tail-gate meetings will be held at the start of each work week to discuss the planned <br />activities and any health and safety-related issues. Additional meetings may be needed after events <br />such as procedure changes, PPE level adjustments, accidents, or additions to this HASP. These <br />meetings will be arranged by the Health and Safety Officer. <br />Should conditions that are suspected of posing a potential increase in health & safety hazards (e.g. <br />unusual odors, stained soil, buried drums, abandoned fuel tanks, etc.), work shall cease in the <br />affected area(s), and the owner's representative shall be contacted for further hazard evaluation. <br />Prior to commencing work each day, either the Health and Safety Officer or Project Manager will <br />ensure that the following tasks are performed: <br />7 <br />water <br />K
