(Stratus) is currently performing environmental consulting
services, relating to a historical release of motor vehicle fuel to the subsurface at 2057
South El Dorado Street, Stockton, California. The California Regional Water Quality
Control Board has requested that the investigation at 2057 South El Dorado Street be
continued eastward, to cover an area that includes additional areas of your property located
at 2049 South San Joaquin Street.
On behalf of Mr. Navdeep Mehta, of SM Horizon Corporation, Stratus is requesting
permission to enter your property for the purposes of advancing soil borings and collecting
groundwater samples at two general locations. The requested work locations are depicted
as `CPT-6' and `CPT-7' on the Figure attached to this letter. If you may recall, Stratus has
already performed similar work (at locations `CPT-3' and `CPT-4') on your property; the
requested work would be similar to the prior activities, but at different locations as before.
If you agree to allow Stratus and a subcontractor (a licensed driller) to complete this work,
we will agree to the following:
Complete the work at no cost to you.
Protect you from any claims for personal injury or property damage during the
work.
The work will include advancement of soil borings only; no permanent installations
(monitoring wells, for example) will be installed on the property. After advancing the soil
borings and collecting the samples, the boreholes will be backfilled with cement (under
permit and inspection from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department).
KAQuick N Save #2\Correspondenee\quicknsave2-aceess-request2-filipinofoundation.doc
