Mr. Alan Buehler, P.G., RWQCB

May 16, 2017
Work Plan for Additional Site Investigation Project No. 2092-2057-01
2057 South El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA
Page 6
stored in an ice-chilled cooler. Strict chain-of-custody procedures will be followed from
the time the samples are collected until the time the samples are relinquished to the
laboratory.
Task 2C: Waste Management
Soil and wastewater generated during the activities will be placed in DOT approved
55-gallon drums and temporarily stored onsite. A composite sample will be collected
from the soil cuttings and will be analyzed to determine an appropriate disposal method.
A licensed contractor will dispose of the soil and wastewater at an appropriate facility.
Task 3: Laboratory Analysis
Soil and groundwater samples will be forwarded to a state-certified laboratory for
chemical analysis. The samples will be analyzed for GRO using USEPA Method
8015/8260, and for BTEX, 1,2-DCA, MTBE, TBA, DIPE, TAME, and ethyl tertiary
butyl ether (ETBE) using USEPA Method 8260. Soil samples will be additionally
analyzed for DRO and motor oil range organics (MRO) using USEPA Method 8015,
volatile range organic compounds (VOCs, including naphthalene) using USEPA Method
8260, semi-volatile organic compounds and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
using USEPA Method 8270, for title 22 metals using USEPA Methods 6020/200.8, for
total organic carbon (TOC) using USEPA Method 9060, and for fraction of organic
carbon (FOC) using American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Method 2974.
Task 4: Site Assessment Report
Following completion of the field activities, a report will be prepared, documenting the
implemented work. The report will include, at a minimum, a scaled site plan, tabulated
soil and groundwater analytical results, certified analytical reports, CPT logs and related
information, confirmation of Geotracker data uploads, and an in-depth evaluation of the
data and a discussion of findings.
LIMITATIONS
This document was prepared in general accordance with accepted standards of care that
existed at the time this work was performed. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is
made. Conclusions and recommendations are based on field observations and data
obtained from this work and previous investigations. It should be recognized that
definition and evaluation of geologic conditions is a difficult and somewhat inexact
science. Judgments leading to conclusions and recommendations are generally made
with an incomplete knowledge of the subsurface conditions present. More extensive
studies may be performed to reduce uncertainties. This document is solely for the use
and information of our client unless otherwise noted.
K:\Quick N Save #2 \Work Plans\Q-N-S#2 work plan 2017.doc STRATUS
