Geotechnica Inc
cc
March 1. 2021
San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Attention: Steven Shih
1868 East HazeIton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
GEOTECHNICAL BORING PERMIT
KRUGER FOODS METAL BUILDING
18362 East Highway 4
Stockton, California
In accordance with your request, we have prepared this letter to address the exploratory borings
we drilled without a permit. In conjunction with this letter, we have attached a well/boring permit
as well as payment confirmation of S2,128 for double the permit fee for five borings as requested.
Exploratory borings were drilled at five locations extending to an estimated depth of 15 feet on
October 29. 2019. A drilling permit was not obtained from the county. We were under the
impression that permits were only required for borings extending within ten feet of groundwater.
which is the requirement for most jurisdictions. We understand that the assumption is incorrect,
and that a permit is required for borings extending more than three feet below the ground surface
in San Joaquin County.
Contaminated soils were not encountered in our exploration. Groundwater data by the Department
of Water Resources indicates that the free groundwater table is more than 100 feet below the
ground surface. As such, the borings were backfilled with soil cuttings.
If you or others have any questions or concerns, please contact the undersigned.
Very truly yours.
RANEY GEOTEC NICAL, LNC
y Y7Lie
Registered Civil Engineer No. C89262
TYGIJWCB
3140 BEACON BLVD. • WEST SACRAMENTO, CA 95691 • TELEPHONE 916/371-0434 FAX 916/371-809
