All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #10 Disinfectant Residual OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine measured at 0.4 ppm. The free chlorine should be between 2.0 and 10.0 ppm. Corrected on site to 10.0 ppm. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open orm use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) #11 Combined Chlorine Concentration OBSERVATIONS: Combined chlorine measured at 0.8 ppm. This concentration should not exceed 0.4 ppm. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain combined chlorine concentration below 0.4 ppm. (CCR 65530) Chemical quality of pool water and indoor air quality at the pool site shall not cause adverse physiological effects, such as irritation of the eyes, lungs, or skin. (CCR 65531) #18 Pool Shell and Tile OBSERVATIONS: The spa shell is pitted where people have been sitting. The shell of the spa should be smooth and water proof. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool shells shall be white and have a smooth waterproof interior finish that will withstand repeated brushing, and scrubbing. A spa pool may be finished in a light color other than white when approved by the enforcement agency. (CBC 3108B) #35 Flow Meters OBSERVATIONS: There is no flow meter for the spa. Provide a flow meter that measures the flow of water (gallons per minute) in the pipes after it passes through the filter. Provide this by the next routine inspection. CALCODE DESCRIPTION., Flow meters shall be provided on each recirculation system and shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
