4. The section discussing Leachate Control Measures has been <br />revised to include funds for any closure costs which may <br />occur. Part (6) -COST, under Leachate Control Measures, has <br />been revised to read: Although the leachate collection and <br />removal system will be installed before closure, additional <br />A sum of $5000 was allocated to cover these <br />costs. <br />The CIWMB was concerned about the cost estimate for installing gas <br />wells at the site. The County hired EMCON Associates to install <br />a gas monitoring system at the Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill. <br />EMCON is charging $11,600 to install and twice monitor 12 gas <br />wells. This rate works out to approximately $1,000 per well as <br />reported in the Preliminary Closure Plan. EMCON's proposal is <br />enclosed (Attachment 2). <br />The Estimated Closure Cost Summary on page 30 of the Closure Plan <br />has been revised to reflect all of the changes above. Please <br />replace the old pages 24-30 of the Preliminary Closure and <br />Postclosure Plan with the enclosed pages.
