Health and Safety Plan <br />453 Moffat Blvd <br />Manteca, California <br />8.0 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br />PPE in the form of protective footwear and appropriate work clothing are required for all field <br />activities. PPE for specific field activities is listed below. <br />All Field Activities <br />Boots — chemical resistant, steel toe and shank (ANSI Z41 - 1983, Safety Toe Footwear <br />Classification 75 and/or ASTM F2413 Active Standard, Standard Specifications for <br />Performance Requirements for Protective (Safety) Toe Cap Footwear). Boots shall be <br />equipped with deep traction sole. Boots purchased after January 26, 2007 will meet the <br />requirements of ATSM F 2412-05 and ATSM F 2413-05. Footwear purchased on or <br />before this date will meet the above ASTM requirements and ANSI Z41- 1999. <br />Work clothing (e.g. long pants) <br />Safety Vests (Yellow or orange with reflective strips) <br />Drilling/Excavation: <br />Safety Glasses (ANSI Z87.1) <br />Hard Hat (ANSI Z89.1-1986M Class A, B, and C) <br />Hearing Protection (foam inserts) <br />Gloves - Chemical (Nitrile) and leather <br />Soil and/or Groundwater Sampling: <br />Gloves — Chemical (nitrile) during sample collection <br />Work Gloves (Leather or equivalent) — if splitting cores or other activities that require <br />more resilient gloves <br />Electrical safety gloves (ASTM D120-14a) — if drilling through asphalt or concrete slabs <br />for vapor pin installation <br />If necessary: <br />Safety Face Shield (splash hazard) <br />Tyvek® suit or similar coverall (splash hazard) <br />Rubber over-boots (wet conditions) <br />PPE offers a high degree of protection, yet the equipment must be maintained and inspected on <br />a regular basis to ensure its effectiveness. Hard hats should be discarded if cracked. Boots <br />should be maintained (use waterproofing if necessary) to prevent injuries, disease (from wet <br />conditions) and insect/snake bites. <br />Employees required to wear PPE will be trained to know at least the following: <br />Terraphase Engineering Inc.
