WORK PLAN FOR GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION
Chevron Service Station # 94054
Stockton, CA
October 26, 2016
photoionization detector (PID). Two soil samples will be analyzed from each boring based on
one from the highest PID reading and one from the vadose zone that is directly above the water
table. Additional samples will be collected and analyzed as warranted. The samples will be
placed under ice in an insulated cooler until relinquished and shipped, under documented
chain-of-custody control, to a certified analytical laboratory. Select soil samples will be analyzed
for TPHg using Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8015B(M) and for benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (collectively BTEX) using EPA Method 8260B.

3.6 INVESTIGATION DERIVED WASTE
Soil cuttings and decontamination rinsate water (investigation derive waste [IDW]) generated
during the field activities will be stored in Department of Transportation approved 55-gallon
capacity steel drums. The containers will be staged on-site pending laboratory characterization
as non-hazardous waste. The IDW transportation and disposal will be coordinated by Stantec.

4.0 Reporting and Scheduling
The activities outlined in this work plan will commence after receiving approval on the scope of
work from the CVRWQCB and budget approval from the State of California UST fund. Stantec
anticipates completing the field work over a span of five days for monitoring well installation and
sampling.
A summary report outlining the soil boring advancement activities and sampling of newly
installed groundwater monitoring wells will be submitted to CVRWQCB within eight weeks
following receipt of the final certified laboratory analysis reports for the groundwater sampling
event. The summary report will include a description of field activities; an updated Site location
map; and a summary of analytical results, data interpretation, and certified laboratory analysis
reports and chain-of-custody documents.
Stantec
6
