SITE RECONNAISSANCE INTERVIEW AND OBSERVATIONS REPORT (Cont'd) <br />Site: California Cedar Products Company <br />The wastes generated are combustible wastes consisting of gear grease, diesel, antifreeze, spent <br />oils, expired inks, liquids from process materials, and solid sludge from the wax/stain process. <br />Corrosive liquid wastes consists of caustic soda beads, boiler chemicals, sodium hydroxide and <br />metals. Flammable liquid wastes consist of acetone, isopropanol, gasoline, and degreasing wax. <br />Other wastes generated on site are petroleum sludge wax, aerosol cans, paint sludge, waste oil and <br />absorbant mixture, paint, ink, and non-RCRA hazardous waste. Wastes are hauled off site every <br />90 days by Falcon Energy Associates or Safety-Kleen Corp. Wastes are hauled to the Kiesel <br />Company, St. Louis, Missouri; Gibson Environmental, Bakersfield, Calif.; and Safety-Kleen <br />Corporation, Denton, Texas, facilities for disposal. <br />According to Mr. Gonzalez, the agencies with regulatory involvement at the Cal Cedar site include <br />the City of Stockton Fire Department (SFD), the City of Stockton Municipal Utilities Department <br />(MUD), the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Response (OER), and the San Joaquin <br />County Unified Valley Air Pollution Control District (APCD). The SFD granted a flammable <br />liquid permit to Cal Cedar.
