The report
indicates that electrical conductivity, suspended solids, dissolved solids, and concentrations of chloride,
sulfate, and bicarbonate alkalinity are significantly higher in the upstream surface water sample at S-2
than in S-1 and S-4. Gas extraction may be required if the odor of landfill gas through the ground
continues.
The county submitted a correction of the Fourth Quarter 2000 groundwater contours that was received
by the Board on 27 April 2001. The County conducted resampling for hexavalent chromium that
indicates a non-detect in well G-4. The detection level was 0.005 mg/1. The Board will conduct further
review of these results. The required resampling of well G-5 for methylene chloride and chloromethane
indicated no detection as of 10 January 2001.
The Monitoring Report Compliance Checklist for the review of the First Quarter 2001 report is attached.
If you have any questions or comments regarding our review, please call me at (916) 255-3137.
WEND W.
