San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department State 18-Month Inspection Report <br /> North County Landfill <br /> SWIS#39-AA-0022 <br /> COMMENTS: <br /> The site overall was in good condition. The active face was observed first thing in the morning. Tarps <br /> are currently being used for alternative daily cover at the active face. Bird guns were being used at the <br /> time of inspection. No household hazardous waste was observed. A spotter was available to direct the <br /> incoming and public trucks coming to the active face of North County Landfill. <br /> During the inspection gas monitoring wells SG-1 and SG-2 were monitored for methane gas and were <br /> under the LEL for methane. <br /> The disposal site records and the landfill unit records were checked at the Department of Public Works <br /> office in Stockton showed them to be maintained and up to date. The gas monitoring records indicated <br /> that the gas readings were all below the 5%maximum level of methane. Safety training is provided for <br /> the current employees. The last training held for the employees was on January 15, 2007. The topic <br /> was on Personal Protective Equipment and Hearing Protection. Load check is done once a day at the <br /> landfill and transfer station. Financial Assurances documents were available. <br /> Page 4 of 4 Inspector <br />
