Turn Ammonia Pump ON <br /> 4. Pump Operation Verification <br /> Special Precautions/Note: <br /> ✓ When Removing Valve Stem Seal caps and/or Valve plugs; take special precaution for trapped ammonia <br /> gas/liquid may be present. Rock the plug or Seal cap side to side while slowly unthreading to release any <br /> residual potential pressure. <br /> ✓ Prior to exercising valves,wipe down valve stem, loosen Gland Packing Nut one-half turn,dress valve stem <br /> with"Orange Solid Oil",exercise valve stem,tighten Gland Packing Nut <br /> ✓ Do not over-tighten valves when closing; this could damage the Teflon seal on the bonnet which could <br /> prevent the valve from sealing properly for future use.
