a�e i11 ,AKo PARTS. <br /> O'Reilly Auto Parts Supplemental Emergency Response <br /> Information <br /> Prevention: <br /> In order to prevent a release from occurring, all team members are trained on proper hazardous <br /> material handling and storage procedures. All hazardous materials are kept in their original <br /> containers and whenever possible smaller items are stored in lip cut containers so as to preclude any <br /> accidental spills. Store personnel visually inspect products on a daily basis while <br /> restockinghnerchandizing the store. <br /> Mitigation: <br /> In the event of a spill, the area will be immediately isolated and the manager on duty will be <br /> notified. The material will be identified; the Safety Data Sheet(SDS) will be obtained through the <br /> TeaniNet portal to the 3E Online SDS library to determine the proper spill response guidance for the <br /> product. Team members will don the proper personal protective equipment (PPE), obtain the <br /> necessary spill response supplies and clean up the spill utilizing clay based absorbent or soda ash <br /> neutralizer per manufacturer recommendations listed on the product's SDS. <br /> Abatement: <br /> Team members will don the proper PPE and clean up the spill utilizing the store's spill clean up <br /> supplies which will vary depending on the type and size of the spill event. Small incidental spills <br /> may be abated using paper towels, clay based absorbent or neutralizer if the product is <br /> corrosive in nature (i.e. battery electrolyte). Storm and sewer drains will be diked or blocked <br /> utilizing available spill abatement supplies such as 50 lb.bags of clay based absorbent. All spills <br /> that occur outside of the store should be reported to the Environmental Coordinator at ext.4589. <br /> a <br /> The spilled materials will be placed into appropriate DOT-rated,sealable containers;a five-gallon <br /> bucket for incidental product spills, a 55 gallon drum for oily absorbents. These containers <br /> will be properly labeled and stored according to local, state and federal regulations. Disposal <br /> containers must be kept in good condition and stored away from high traffic areas, electrical <br /> hazards, drains and fire exits. Containers will be kept closed at all times to minimize the risk of a <br /> spill event. Container labels should be clearly visible from the work area to both identify the <br /> contents and alert any emergency responders to the waste locations.
