All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #4 Safety Equipment OBSERVATIONS: Life ring was located inside of equipment room. Life ring needs to be located in an accessible location. Operator set life ring in an accessible location. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. (CCR 65540) #8 Pool and Deck Lighting OBSERVATIONS: Pool light is not operational. No access to pool after dark. Sign is posted for no access after dark. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the pool. When a pool is used at night, pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK" and shall secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark. (3115B) #15 Operation Records OBSERVATIONS: PH and Chlorine levels are not being documented on the log. Make sure to document the readings on the log located in the equipment room. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall test the disinfectant residual, pH, and spa water temperature a minimum of once per day. Cyanuric acid concentration shall be tested once per month if cyanuric acid is used. Combined chlorine shall be tested as often as necessary to maintain the concentration below 0.4 ppm. Pool operator shall maintain written records of all maintenance and test results for at least two years and shall submit those records to the enforcement agency upon request. (CCR 65523) #17 Cleanliness of Pool OBSERVATIONS: Pool skimmers need to be cleaned out. Maintain clean pool water and clean surfaces as often as necessary to keep pool surfaces clean and free of slime and algae. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain clean pool water while the pool is in use and shall not allow debris to accumulate in the pool. Pool operator shall clean the bottom, sides, and other surfaces of the pool as often as necessary to keep pool surfaces clean and free of slime and algae.
