Box 1810 - 1810 Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95201
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division has
received the letter from Martha Vazquez of California Integrated Waste Management
Board (CIWMB) dated January 27, 1992 (attached). Based on the conclusion of this
letter it now appears that the start up of the recycling activities, as outlined in the
Operations Plan for the North County Sanitary Landfill and Recycling Center dated
January 6, 1992 must be delayed until a revised solid waste facilities permit is issued.
The current permit allows for source separated materials to be brought to the
North County Sanitary Landfill and Recycling Center for unloading into recycling bins.
According to CIWMB interpretation, AB 1760 would allow only for the salvage of
metallic discards without a permit revision.
We wish to offer our assistance in this matter.
