The San Joaquin County
Public Works Department is in the process of finalizing a leachate
collection and disposal plan for the subject facility. The plan
will be submitted to the RWQCB for approval by March 6, 1992.
Daily operations during rainy days are conducted at a winter pad
area. A berm will be constructed around the winter pad to prevent
any storm water from coming in contact with waste and draining to
the low area of the module. The storm water trapped by the berm
will either be allowed to percolate through the landfill and
eventually collect in the leachate sump, or it will be pumped and
treated as leachate.
if you have any questions or need additional information, please
call me at (209) 468-3066.
Sincerely,
TOM HORTON
Solid Waste Manager
TH: GK: vj
R:VIRGINIAILETTERSINCSTINSP.HTU
c: Ed Padilla, SREHS
Environmental Health Division
Public Health Services
LA 63106
COUNTY OF SAN JOAQU I N
EUGENE DELUCCHI
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORK,5 r
CHIEF DEPUTY DIRECTOR
P. 0.
