PQ•VIN rC COME O to the informational meeting regarding q�,FOR� the proposed permit revisions for the North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill We are glad you are here. We have provided the information we think will be helpful to understand the proposed permit revisions for this facility. In addition, County staff is here to answer any questions you may have. They include representatives from: Environmental Health Department. This department is responsible for processing the revised permit. They are your hosts for this evening. Public Works Department (Solid Waste Division). This department is in charge of the Solid Waste Program for San Joaquin County, and has requested the revisions. Here is a summary of the revisions requested. • Increase the maximum daily disposal tonnage limit - From 825 to 1200 tons of refuse per day • Increase the maximum daily incoming refuse-carrying vehicle trip limit - From 600 to 850 vehicles per day • Increase the maximum permitted fill elevation (height) of the landfill: - From 190 to 320 feet above mean sea level • Increase the hours of heavy equipment use for the disposal of refuse - Present hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM without restriction - Proposed hours: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with other equipment use as needed for important facility maintenance or improvements. • Hours when gate is open to receive refuse: - NO CHANGE: Presently 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM These revisions have been evaluated in an Environmental Impact Report that was certified by the Board of Supervisors in December 2006. The single "significant" impact was to the scenic view by the proposed increase in landfill height. This will be mitigated by planting screening foliage along the north property boundary where such planting does not compromise sensitive wetland ecologies.
