Appliances include items such as r rators, freezers,air conditioners,water cool ashers,dryers,ovens, stoves,furnaces, <br /> space heaters,water heaters,and trash compactors.Materials requiring special handing include materials such as Freon,mercury <br /> probes and switches,used oil,metal encased capacitors,and encased PCBs or DEHP from appliance compressors and <br /> transmissions. The Certified Appliance Recycler(CAR) inspects each major appliance in the appliance staging area for materials <br /> that require special handling. Materials requiring special handling are temporarily stored at the NCR&SL before removal to <br /> permitted facilities. <br /> i. The waste load checking program should be consist of the following activities: Inspection of random incoming loads;training of <br /> facility personnel in hazardous waste recognition and proper hazardous waste handling procedures;reporting incidents ff unlawful <br /> disposal to specific agencies.
