The Standard Observations report
is also included, as required by Section 5a.
The site was inspected on September 24, 2009. Drainage features installed last year remain in good
condition (Photo 1). Similar to last year, the landfill operator covers recently constructed side -slopes
with anti -erosion mesh as the winter season approaches, and does not wait until the facility inspection
to provide drainage controls (Photo 2).
Storm drain downcomers are installed to carry the water down from the upper, flatter areas (Photos 3
and 4). The inlets of these downcomers are protected against the water infiltration that could occur
where water accumulates before being carried off the flatter area (Photo 3). Drainage downcomer
inlets were free of obstructions (Photo 5 and 6).
Most drainage ditches were found serviceable at the time of inspection (Photos 6 and 7). Those that
were found in need of attention were improved.
Solid Waste staff was on site during the short but heavy rain of October 13, 2009, and observed that the
drainage features functioned as intended without difficulty.
If you have any questions, please call me at (209) 468-8504.
Sincerely,
W.
