i <br />� 11 :1_TH "1 IN:zl11Zi 51 <br />1.1 PURPOSE <br />This work plan presents the procedures for the installation of a new <br />groundwater (GW) monitoring well (G-9) at North County Recycling Center <br />and Sanitary Landfill (NCRCSL). <br />1.2 SITE DESCRIPTION <br />NCRCSL is located at 17720 East Harney Lane, approximately nine miles <br />east of Lodi. It is a single solid waste management unit, designated Class <br />III, accepting non -hazardous municipal solid waste and inert waste. The <br />site is 185 acres in area, comprised of lined modules, each constructed on <br />an as -needed basis. The landfill has an expected close date in 2070, <br />based on current disposal rates and current permitted capacity. <br />1.3 REASON FOR INSTALLING GW MONITORING WELL <br />The new GW well will be downgradient monitoring well for Area 5B and 6. <br />1.4 WELL LOCATION <br />The location of the proposed well is away from the refuse footprint (Figure <br />1). Well installation work will not include drilling into refuse or contact with <br />refuse. The well location will be adjusted in the field based on site <br />conditions. The well will be surveyed after installation. <br />1.5 CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE <br />The new GW monitoring well G-9, will be installed during the construction <br />of Area 5B by the prime contractor Anderson Dragline Inc. Construction of <br />Area 5B is tentatively scheduled to start in June, 2017 with ninety working <br />days. The County will notify RWQCB, when the prime contractor will <br />begin installing well G-9. <br />1.6 UTILITIES CLEARANCE <br />Prior to drilling, Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified.
