Following are the proposed changes that falls under each site's Joint Technical Document and Solid <br />Waste permits: <br />1. Revised operating hours at North County Sanitary Landfill <br />Solid Waste Division has elected to operate NCSL with revised operating hours. The proposed revised <br />operating hours for NCSL will be seven days per week from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The revised hours are <br />within the official permitted hours. Solid Waste is not changing the permitted hours. <br />2. Designated locations for carpet, cardboard, and mattress recycling <br />To improve diversion, NCSL and FSL will begin recycling carpet, cardboard, and mattresses. The <br />recycling areas for these items at each site are listed below: <br />NCSL: East side of the Materials Recycling Facility <br />FSL: Next to the current white goods unloading area <br />Site staff will monitor for prohibited and hazardous waste during unloading. Disposed carpet and <br />mattresses will be loaded in fully enclosed and covered trailers with locking doors. Cardboards will be <br />disposed in a bin covered with tarps. All recyclable materials will be hauled to appropriate recyclers <br />once the trailers or bins are full. <br />The proposed changes will be in effect once approved by EHD.
