Samples could not be collected
from wells G -1A, G -3D, G-4, or G-6 during this monitoring period due to low water levels. However,
water level measurements could be collected in these wells for the purpose of determining the
groundwater flow direction.
Two additional groundwater monitoring wells (wells G-7 and G-8) were installed to augment the site's
monitoring network (see figures 3 and 4). These two wells will be sampled along with the existing wells,
starting in 2017.
VOCs were not detected in any groundwater monitoring wells sampled during this period.
The lysimeters did not yield enough water for sampling, indicating no detectable leaks from the liner in
those areas. Unsaturated zone monitoring will continue in accordance with the WDRs.
Results of leachate monitoring are consistent with past leachate monitoring events. The second
semiannual leachate monitoring event occurred on July 20, 2016. Twenty-three (23) different VOCs
were reported in the leachate samples. The highest VOC concentrations reported were those of xylenes,
naphthalene, and some of the benzene compounds.
