The observed soil staining was dark and oily and was approximately 1-foot in diameter.
The staining was located immediately below the fuel filter installed on the dispensing hose of
the onsite diesel tank. The tank was emptied of the residual diesel during the site visit-, a 5-
gallon container was left below the fuel filter to catch any potential drips. Diesel fuel is required
to be handled as hazardous waste and must be properly disposed of. Remove all diesel
impacted soil and dispose of all spill cleanup generated debris, as required.
Small amounts of hazardous waste can be transported to the San Joaquin County Household
Hazardous Waste facility at 7850 R.A. Bridgeford Street, Stockton, CA 95206. The facility has
limited hours of operation, and more information can be found here:
hftps://www.sjgov.org/solidwaste/hhw. A list of qualified cleanup companies that work in this
area is also included with this letter for your convenience, if cleanup can't be facilitated with the
existing manpower. Hazardous waste transporters can be found here:
https://hwts.dtsc.ca.gov/transporters/.
Subsequent complaints may require a site visit by an Environmental Health inspector.
Verified complaints may be billed to the property occupant or owner at the current
Environmental Health Department rate of$152 per hour.
Please contact me at (209) 953-7699 or emanzo(@.slgov.org with any questions,
Elena K.
