20 July 2021 AdvancedGeo
Project No. 21-6486 An Employee-Owned Company
Page 6 of 15
4.1. GROUNDWATER DESCRIPTION FOR THE GENERAL AREA
According to the State of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) Sustainable
Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) Data Viewer, Seasonal Report for Spring 2020,
depth to groundwater at the site is approximately 75 feet below surface grade (bsg).
Between 2011 and 2019, depth to groundwater at the site has fluctuated between 75 and
95 feet bsg. Groundwater flow direction locally appears to be to the east-southeast.
Groundwater was not encountered in the 42-inch-deep percolation test hole advanced on
30 June 2021.
4.2. GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION IN THE AREA OF THE SITE
The immediately adjacent and outlying land use for the parcel is residential. Potential
groundwater contamination can occur from several sources including leaking
underground storage tanks, septic systems, agricultural activities, dairies, and stormwater
infiltration.
A review of the California Department of Toxics and Substance Control (DTSC)
EnviroStor Database and the Geotracker Web site revealed one (1) leaking fuel
underground storage tank (LUST) site within a half-mile radius of the subject property.
The LUST site has been closed since 1998. Based on the status of the site and the
distance and direction from the subject property, the site should not impact the subject
property. The review did not reveal any other sites of environmental concern within a half-
mile radius of the site.
4.3. ON-SITE EXISTING WELL DESCRIPTION
There are two existing domestic water supply wells on the property serving each of the
property residences. The well serving the larger residence on the west side of the property
(West Well) was constructed in January 2012 to a total depth of 320 feet bsg. This well
features a 6-inch-diameter PVC casing, a 3-horsepower submersible pump set at 147
feet bsg, and a sanitary seal to 100 feet bsg. The well serving the smaller residence in
the east side of the property (East Well) consists of a 6-inch diameter, PVC casing.
Additional information on the construction specifications for this well were unavailable.
Copies of the available well permits and completion reports are included in Appendix B.
4.4. CONSTITUENTS BEING TESTED FOR IN THE WATER SAMPLE
Nitrate (NO3) constituents and 1,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane (DBCP) were tested in the
existing groundwater supply wells at the subject property.
