Purpose: <br /> The mission of Dameron Hospital Association is to support physicians and our employees in providing <br /> quality patient care in a safe and caring environment. Consistent with this mission, the Board of <br /> Directors, Medical Staff, and Administration have established and provided ongoing support for the <br /> Medical Waste Management Program. The purpose of the Medical Waste Management Program is to <br /> define the program and to identify and manage materials known to have the potential to harm humans <br /> or the environment. The plan includes processes designed to minimize the risk of harm. The processes <br /> include education,procedures for safe handling,transporting and use, storage and disposal, and <br /> management of spills and exposures. <br /> II. Scope: <br /> The Medical Waste Management Program is designed to address the risks of the variety of substances <br /> addressed in this plan pose to the environment of Dameron Hospital Association and to the patients, <br /> staff, and visitors of the organization. The program is designed to assure compliance with applicable <br /> codes and regulations. <br /> Dameron Hospital Association is registered status as a large quantity generator.
