All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #3 Safety Signs OBSERVATIONS: Location address faded. Print clearly location address. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operatorshall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 31208) #7 Pool Deck OBSERVATIONS: Gaps in the decking. Seal gaps within one month. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: An unobstructed 4 -foot wide deck of concrete or like material shall be provided and maintained flush with the top of the pool coping. Deck shall extend completely around the pool and shall further extend 4 feet on both sides and to the rear of any diving board, ADA device, or slide. (CBC 31148) Pool operator shall keep the pool deck well maintained. (CCR 65535) #9 Ladders and Handrails OBSERVATIONS: Loose hand rail at shallow pool entrance. Tighten loose handrail. CALCODE DESCRIPTION., A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and handraits shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed. At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 3111B) Pool operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained. (CCR 65535) #10 Disinfectant Residual OBSERVATIONS: Low level of free chlorine. Provide acceptable range between 2ppm and 10ppm. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations., 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine.
