AEGIS ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS
801 Riverside Avenue, Suite C Roseville, CA 95678 916. 782-2110 969-2110
May 8 , 1990
Ms. Eleanor Ratliff
Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95201
Dear -Ms. Ratliff,
We propose to abandon an out of service water well at 4315
Waterloo Road. it -is located :in planter box at the front of the
i Shell Station. (See site sketch on back of permit application)
All we really know about it is, that it' s a 6-inch well. I
couldn't locate any information on well at either your county
- offices or State Department of Water. Resources. Depth at this time
= is unknown. We won't know until we pull the pump.
The top of well sits 2 ' below grade in a concrete vault. We -
intend to pull the pump and determine depth of well. As per your
w county instructions for well abandonment, if well is over 100 ' ,
fill with pea gravel to 1001 . Then pressure grouting from bottom
to top with a six sack mix. As top of well sits 2 ' below grade,
k we would .like to grout to top of well, without having to excavate
additional 1 ' to reach 3 ' excavation requirement.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
Trace Rankin
Technician
Michael Narmi
Geologist/Project Manager //terGj jaS S C
CC: Mr. Borges,
ENGINEERS GROUND WATER SCIENTISTS
