MCUNTAIN HOUSE SPECIFIC PLA N II <br />7.2.4 Mountain House Creek Park <br />Mastrar Plan Summary <br />The Master Plan proposes a design for the restoration of the Mountain House Creel[ <br />corridor to a diverse riparian system dominated by native species and protected f om <br />Inappropriate uses or adtivi es, with a wildlife corridor wflllin the creek park that will al law <br />wildlife Einobstroeted aomss to Old River. <br />The Mountain House Community Patk and rreekslde landscape along Mountain House <br />Creek wilt serve 2s the central open space feature for the community and provide passive <br />recreational opportunftles, open space connections, wildlife habitat, am flood control. <br />Greek design and manapement will integrate the rnuitiple purposes of Flood control, wildfffe <br />haGital, and recreation_ Instailation of recreational facilities will be provided in coordination <br />with habilat restoration and drainage requirements. <br />Further information and requlraments are fi=nd in the MHCSUs Parks_ RaGreation and <br />i-eisvre Pian. as amended. <br />Plan Description <br />VMin 5PII, the Mountain House Creek Park wilt he extended [Torn Central Parkway at <br />Town Center to its northern terminus at the 0 I River Regional Park in Neighborhood L <br />(see Figure 7.5; SPI[ Mountain House Creek Park). <br />Consistent With the Master Plan, the park corridor will serve muthple functions of flood <br />control, water quality improvement, habitat restoration, and recreation. It will be a <br />minimum of 250 feet and a maximum of 350 feet wide, with pedestrian access as follows: <br />Along the east side of the creek, the path will be al feast eight feet wide; concrete, and <br />painted with a center stripe- It will be located out of thio 104 -year flood ehanne[ and <br />provide a contirtuous pe lh of travel for maintenance crews and emergency vehicles. <br />Along the west side of the creek, the path will be eight feet in Wilith. It will be <br />donstruded eta hard surface such as decomposed grarifse, or a resin -based paving <br />Creek paths will cross Syron Road at the Central parkway overmrpssing and at the <br />Intersection of Mountain House Parkway. <br />in addition to development of planting, grading, site furnishings, and other elements <br />required by the Master Plan and the MHOSl7 Parks, Fiecfeation and Leisure Plan, SPIT <br />facilities will include a staging area adjacent to Central Community Park within Town <br />CenW and a pedestrian bridge adjacent to North Community Park_ The staging area wlll <br />supply vehicular and bicycle parking, restrooms, picnic facilltles, and trail access.
