Do not click any links or open attachments unless you trust the
sender and know the content is safe.
Good Afternoon Gloria,
Condor completed the onsite portion of the integrity inspection for the 10,000-gallon diesel tank at your Lodi Facility
yesterday(November 11, 2021). 1 have included a summary of the findings:
• Thickness on both heads of the tank were measured in several locations and all were consistent. The tank shell
thicknesses(sides of the tank)were measured and fairly consistent with each other. Since the tanks original
steel thicknesses for the heads and shells is unknown it is difficult to identify internal corrosion issues. However,
the inspection did reveal uniform thickness throughout the tank. Data collected from this inspection will serve a
s a baseline for future thickness measurements.
• Areas of coating failure and minor external corrosion was observed on the tank. While the integrity of the tank
did not appear to be comprised, it is recommended that you remove the surface corrosion and apply a new
paint coating. Please refer to the local fire codes for selection of the type and color of paint for the tank.
• A 2-inch diameter normal vent was observed on the tank. The UL 142 tank construction standard includes
requirements for operational vent sizing.According to Section 8.2 of UL 142 standard—"The normal venting
shall be sized in accordance with Table 8.2 and shall be at least as large as the filling or withdrawal connection,
whichever is larger..." We recommend the facility implement the venting requirements of UL 142 and either
increase the diameter of the operational vent to 3 inches or reduce the fill pipe to 2-inches to be consistent with
the standard.
• Evidence of possible leaks were identified. It is recommended the product be cleaned from the tank exterior and
monitorthe areas to identify ongoing leaks. Ongoing leaks should be repaired or replaced, as necessary.
• The liquid level gauge was consistent with the manual liquid level measurement.Water was not found inside the
tank during the inspection.
Please note the final report will be prepared and recommendations may be adjusted from this initial inspection. The
final report will be prepared and sent to you in PDF format for your records. I anticipate 4-6 weeks at the most, if not
sooner.
In the meantime, please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments regarding the tank inspection.
Respectfully,
Jordan Johnson, QISP,STI Tank Inspector
Field Services Manager
CONDOR EARTH
Sonora, Stockton,Jamestown, Merced, Rancho Cordova
188 Frank West Circle,Suite i
Stockton,CA 95206
Phone:(209)234-0518 ext 2239
1
