(See Appendix H: Appliance Recycling). 3.2.1.3 Universal Waste Electronic waste ("E -waste") includes computers, cell phones, stereo equipment, televisions, and any other electronic item that may contain heavy metals. E -waste is unloaded by customers on the unloading dock and staged in palletized cages along the east wall of the Public Self Haul Disposal Area by Lovelace staff. Currently E -waste is taken off-site for processing 3 days per week or as needed by a private electronics recycler. Customers are asked by the cashiers in the scalehouse if their load contains electronics. If it does, these customers are directed to the CRT collection area to prevent electronics from going tRD the tipping floor. If electronics are found on the tipping floor, refuse workers are trained to identify and remove them. 3.2.1.4 Agricultural Plastic Recycling LTS hosts bi-monthly Agricultural Pesticide Container Collection Events for growers to bring triple -rinsed, punctured agricultural containers free of charge. A recycler arrives on-site at LTS and chips the plastic and then hauls the plastic away for remanufacturing into new containers, recycled lumber, etc. 3.2.1.5 Medical Wastes Medical waste is not accepted unless it has undergone autoclave treatment. 3.2.1.6 Waste Oil Waste oil is accepted from the public and is stored in a double walled, 1,000 gallon tank located at the northern end of the MRF (Figure 4). The oil is removed by an environmental contactor on a regular basis as the amount of oil approaches the tank capacity. This occurs once every 2 to 3 weeks on average.
