amount of materials and frequency of removal depends upon the composition of the recyclables, <br />the amount of recyclable material recovered and the efficiency of sorting. <br />During normal operating conditions municipal solid waste is processed the same working day. <br />Mixed waste that is not processed by the end of the working day is left on the MRF tipping floor <br />until it can be properly loaded into transfer trailers the next working day. In no case are materials <br />allowed to be stored on site for a period of time which may result in the creation of a public health <br />hazard, nuisance or fire hazard in accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17409.3 (c). <br />3.2.4 Burning Wastes And Open Burning <br />Burning of wastes is not permitted in the facility. If burning wastes are inadvertently received at <br />the LTS, they are separated from other wastes to a safe area away from the unloading, transfer <br />and processing areas where it is be spread and extinguished with water. <br />3.2.5 Process or Quench Water <br />Process or quench water is not used at the LTS. <br />3.2.6 Hazardous, Liquid and Special Waste Exclusion <br />Facility staff conduct hazardous waste screening in the form of a random load -checking program. <br />In the event that a hazardous or prohibited waste is detected as part of the load checking <br />program, it will be either rejected or, if the hauler cannot be identified, separated or cordoned off <br />with traffic cones or similar devices.
