During normal operating conditions municipal solid waste is processed the same working day. Mixed waste that is not processed by the end of the working day is left on the MRF tipping floor until it can be properly loaded into transfer trailers the next working day. In no case are materials allowed to be stored on site for a period of time which may result in the creation of a public health hazard, nuisance or fire hazard in accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17409.3 (c). 3.2.4 Burning Wastes And Open Burning Burning of wastes is not permitted in the facility. If burning wastes are inadvertently received at the LTS, they are separated from other wastes to a safe area away from the unloading, transfer and processing areas where it is be spread and extinguished with water. 3.2.5 Process or Quench Water Process or quench water is not used at the LTS. 3.2.6 Hazardous, Liquid and Special Waste Exclusion Facility staff conduct hazardous waste screening in the form of a random load -checking program. In the event that a hazardous or prohibited waste is detected as part of the load checking program, it will be either rejected or, if the hauler cannot be identified, separated or cordoned off with traffic cones or similar devices.
