3. 4.9 Sanitary Facilities <br />Sanitary facilities available include restrooms, showers, drinking fountains and eye washes for <br />staff. Both men's and women's lavatories (designed to accommodate handicapped use) and <br />showers are available in the office portion of the Office and Maintenance building (Figure 3). The <br />scale house has a restroom with a toilet and sink for use by scale house staff. Eyewash Stations <br />are provided <br />in the <br />MRF. Two Port -O -Lets on each side <br />of the Materials Recovery <br />Facility are <br />provided for <br />use by <br />commercial and self -haul customers. <br />3.4.10 Waste Water Disposal <br />Wastewater from the facility is generated in the following areas: <br />• Employee restrooms/sanitary sources <br />• Waste handling areas <br />• Storage bins, transfer trucks and tipping floor cleaning <br />Wastewater from the sanitary facilities goes directly into a septic system. Wastewater generated <br />through contact with the tipping floor is pumped into a tank and reused by spraying directly onto <br />trash for dust control. <br />3.4.11 Signage <br />Signs directing customers to the LTS are posted along Lovelace Road, at the point of access to <br />the station, along the entry lanes and at the scale house.
