Mr. Baier was promoted to Materials Recovery Supervisor in 2002, and then to Solid Waste Site Manager in 2008, and then onto in 2014 and currently the Solid Waste Operations Manager for San Joaquin County, Mr. Baier has o Completed the 40 -hour certification course for Hazardous Waste Operations 2007 Completed Solid Waste Association of North America Manager of Landfill Operations (°MOLO") training in 1996 o Completed the Transfer Station Auditing Procedures course presented by Blue Ridge Consultants in 2008 o Completed the California Environmental Protection Agency course for State Minimum Standards for Composting, Transfer Stations, and CDI Facilities in 2007 In his present position, Mr. Baier plans, assigns and supervises, either personally or though subordinate supervisors, the operation of the Lovelace Transfer Station and North County Sanitary Landfill and Recycling Center, and provides assistance as needed for the maintenance of the closed Harney Lane Landfill and Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill. Mr. Baier inspects assigned areas of responsibility, identifies and sets the priority for projects, and reports major issues as appropriate to his supervisors. Mr. Baier also prepares work schedules for assignment of personnel and equipment, assists in training employees, oversees maintenance of records of work and projects completed, inspects operations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and with the schedules, participates in interviewing and selecting subordinate staff, and prepares correspondence and reports as needed.
