The agencies shall consult on a finding of eligibility and implement appropriate treatment measures if the find is determined to be eligible for inclusion in the NRHP or CRHR. Work cannot resume within the no- work radius until the lead agencies, through consultation as appropriate, determine that the site either: 1) is not eligible for the NRHP or CRHR; or 2) that the treatment measures have been completed to their satisfaction. The Project area was investigated by a professional archaeologist, who concluded that there were no known unique archaeological resources within the Project area. However, there is alluvium deposited from Bear Creek and Pixley Slough present to the north and south of the Project Area and the Project Area is situated on a Holocene landform, increasing the likelihood that any potential resources existing in the Project Area could be subsurface. Miwok territory encompasses the Project Area and pre-contact villages were often located along waterways such as Pixley Slough and Bear Creek.Therefore, there is a potential for buried pre-contact archaeological resources on the property. For this reason, the Proposed Project may result in a potentially significant impact to unknown unique archaeological resources.With implementation of Mitigation Measure 4.7-1 a, this impact would be less than significant with mitigation incorporated.
