The winterization activities were completed before the
rainy season, in October.
The winter dumping area is located south of Station 3000 East
and Station 3000 North. A dumping pad has been prepared over an
area 600 feet long that ranges between 120 feet and 300 feet wide.
The pad is 30 feet deep. The pad dimensions will accommodate both
private and commercial vehicles safely. See the attached map for
the location of the dumping area.
The main access road is paved with asphalt concrete. It has
been built to a width of approximately 21 feet, and is wide enough
for two-way traffic.
The dumping pad has been built with a mixture of sand, cement
and broken tiles, which, when compacted, becomes an asphalt -like
surface.
The trench and fill landfilling method is used. Waste is
spread and compacted in an excavated trench. The trench is
expanded each day to provide dumping space, and the native soil
that is removed is used for daily cover. There is no need to
stockpile cover soil because it is generated continuously by the
trench excavation.
In the event that additional road material is needed it will
be purchased from E1 Rancho Rock and Gravel less than a mile from
the site.
