PAYNE
DEPUTY DIRECTOR
Enclosed please find a copy of Appendix G for the Foothill Sanitary
Landfill Report of Disposal Site Information. This appendix
details the methods to be used in handling and disposing of cannery
waste, sludge, and ash. It should be noted that the quantity of
these special wastes has been accounted for in determining the
incoming waste volume. Therefore, the permitted daily capacity
will not be exceeded. It should also be noted in the appendix that
cannery waste and sludge containing 50% or greater moisture content
will not be accepted.
With regard to leachate, it should be noted that the site currently
does not have a Leachate Collection and Removal System (LCRS).
However, a LCRS is being proposed for all future modules. A
leachate treatment plan will be submitted in a timely manner to the
proper agencies for review per plans for future modules.
If you have any questions, please call me at Extension 3066.
GK: MCS: vj
R:\VIRGINIA\FSL-RDSI.EP
Enclosure
LA 311020
