Regulations, Title 22. The statement provides an agreement for <br />the proper removal, at the sole expense of the waste generator, <br />of any portion of waste brought to the Foothill Landfill that is <br />_ <br />later determined to be hazardous. <br />Wastes determined to be designated, hazardous, or otherwise <br />unacceptable are not approved for disposal. <br />WASTE SCREENING AT THE GATE HOUSE <br />A highly visible sign stating that no hazardous waste is <br />accepted at the Foothill Landfill is posted at the landfill <br />entrance. A photograph of this sign are shown in the Appendix. <br />The gate attendant is trained to recognize wastes that are <br />not acceptable at the landfill, and he/she visually inspects the <br />loads brought in by new customers. The gate attendant will <br />inspect any load brought in by regular customers that he/she <br />suspects may not be acceptable for disposal for any reason. <br />If hazardous materials are detected in a load, the gate <br />attendant will notify the driver that the load contains hazardous <br />waste and that the landfill will not accept it. Before the <br />vehicle is turned away the following information is recorded: the <br />types, physical description, and quantities of wastes contained <br />in the load, and a vehicle description including the license <br />plate number and the driver's name. <br />LOAD CHECKING AT THE DISPOSAL AREA <br />The landfill heavy equipment operators and traffic directors <br />screen the waste while the wasted is moved and compacted on the <br />
