If the vehicle has already left the site when the hazardous
materials are found, and the waste is containerized' a licensed
hazardous waste hauler will be hired to remove the waste from
the landfill and dispose of it properly. The customer, if known,
will be billed for all costs~
TRAINING PROGRAM
ON-SITE PERSONNEL
The load checking program is explained in detail to all site
personnel who are involved with inspection of the waste,
including the gato attendant, load inspectors, traffic directors,
and equipment operators~ These employees have also attend the
"Basic Hazardous Waste Awareness Course" given by the San Joaquin
County Office of Emergency Services. The course was last
_
attended in August of 1989. All new employees will be enrolled
to take the course at the earliest available date after the
beginning of their employment with the Foothill Landfill. The
course will emphasize familiarity with containers and labels
typically used for hazardous wastes and other hazardous
materials. The course will be repeated for all employees
approximately twice per year.
