Box 2009 <br />Stockton, Ca. 95201 <br />Attn: Mr. Ed Padilla <br />Senior Environmental <br />Health Specialist <br />Dear Mr. Valinottir <br />On March 1, 1990 Fred Evens, of the California <br />Department of Forestry, and I met and discussed and made an <br />inspection of the Foothill Sanitary Landfill <br />In your letter, dated February 16, 1990, to Chief Mohl <br />you stated there was still a 2500 gallon pond being <br />maintained for fire protection. We found this pond to no <br />longer be in service. This is for your information onIy. We <br />no longer require this pond. <br />The following are requirements for the continued <br />ooeration for the landfill site: <br />1. The operational area of the landfill remain to be <br />enclosed by a 6 -strand barbed wire fence. <br />2. Install and maintain a 4" water main from main water <br />source to within 1501 of active dumping area. <br />Install in the water main, stand pipes of 2 1/2 <br />at intervals not to exceed 4001. These stand pipes <br />shall extend a minimum of 24" above the ground and <br />will have a shut-off valve with male National <br />Standard Fire Threads with each equipped with a cap. <br />Install one Hydrant at least 501 from the pumo <br />building but no more than 100' from the equioment <br />storage building~ All plumbing in the hydrant water <br />supply system must be at least 4" in diameter, exceot <br />the 2 1/2" diameter hydrant standpipes. All Hydrants <br />shall have at least one 2 1/2" National Standard Fire <br />Thread male outlet with can, and each hydrant shall <br />have, within 5' of the hydrant, at least one 2 1/2" <br />to 1 1/2" National Standard Fire Thread reducer. <br />
