The observations and findings described in this report are summarized as
follows:
o Hydro -Search drilled four soil borings to depths of 20, 45, 50, and
100 feet.
o No fluids or ground water were encountered in the four soil borings.
o Hydro -Search installed three 1 -inch PVC monitoring wells in soil
borings 20, 45, and 50 feet deep.
o Hydro -Search abandoned the three monitoring wells and backfilled the
four boreholes with a cement slurry.
o Hydro -Search drilled ten 3 -foot -deep soil -gas monitoring borings.
Hydro -Search analyzed for hydrocarbon vapors in the 10 soil -gas
borings using a PID. Readings of 0.2 ppmv were recorded at MB -7,
MB -8, 0.6 ppmv at MB -9, and 1.6 ppmv at MB -10 using a PID.
Hydro -Search did not field calibrate the PID.
o Hydro -Search and Kleinfelder analyzed for combustible gas in the ten
soil -gas borings using a combustible gas analyzer. Readings on
Hydro -Search's and Kleinfelder's combustible gas analyzers were 0
percent at all ten soil -gas borings.
o Hydro -Search and Kleinfelder collected water samples from the onsite
domestic well on April 28, 1988 and May 6, 1988.
o Hydro -Search submitted two sets of water samples to the Canonie
Laboratory in Stockton, California.
104-88-683
11
