Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
Two septic systems are currently located on the Site (Plate 3).
Proposed Septic System
No new septic construction is proposed at this time.
On -Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department permit files were searched
for the Site address. Two septic permits were identified:
• November 1962 permit for repair to existing residential septic system. A 45 -foot
leach line and a 33 -inch diameter by 25 -foot deep seepage pit were added to the
existing system.
• May 1971 permit for a new septic system at warehouse. The system included a
1,000 -gallon tank, a 40 -foot leach line, and a 36 -inch diameter by 25 -foot deep
seepage pit.
These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 160 septic systems
per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is located in a residential neighborhood with vineyards to the south.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department for nearby properties, septic systems in the area typically utilize
leach lines with 25 -foot deep seepage pits. The septic permits can be found in
Appendix 4 of this report.
LOGE 2150 Page 2
