The other Legislative Districts include the State
26th Assembly and 13th Senate Districts, and the
Federal 14th Congressional District.
Existing and Planned Services:
Schools: The Linden Unified School District supplies
educational services. Elementary classrooms are at
Waverly School on Wilmarth Avenue (1.3 miles), at
Waterloo School on Pezzi Road (4 miles) or at Glenwood
School on North Alpine Road (5 miles). All secondary
school children go to Linden High School in Linden,
10 miles to the east. It is likely that elementary
classroom loads would be spread into two or more of
the above mentioned schools. Bus service routes are
available for both elementary and secondary school
children.
Children generated by developing this subdivision are
determined by multiplying the Stockton Metropolitan
Statistical Area single-family average of 2.53 children
by 43 single-family units. Although not precise, this
formulation yields a figure of 109 children. Current
school enrollment is dropping in the overall Linden
Unified School District. As well, it is impossible
to determine how many years will lapse before the
subdivision is filled if it is approved and becomes
reality. It is nevertheless State law that all
children be enrolled in a school, public or otherwise,
between the ages of 6 years and 18 years, or graduate
from high school, whichever occurs first. Schools may
be either public or private, or a,student may be
taught by a private tutor or credentialled parent.
The Linden Unified School District will accommodate
the children from this subdivision.
Commercial Services:
Residential areas require a multitude of services.
The impact of such requirements is felt when 1) long
trips are required to get to existing services or 2)
new services must be supplied.
The subdivision needs two types of servicing:
1. Residents will require the services and practices
of people specializing in home maintenance, personal.
care, financial concerns, recreational services,
medical services, auto repair, and other services.
2. Residents will also be consumers requiring a wide
variety of products and commodities.
-20-
