Ms. Wendy Arano
June 21, 2000
Page 2
Response: The County recently received results, which will be reported shortly, from
the second quarter of 2000. These results show detections of
trichloroethene, a trace of 1,1 dichloroethene, and acetone in MW-3: Since
trichloroethene was also detected in the fourth quarter of 1999, the County
agrees to re-sample MW-3 for trichloroethene, and 1,1 dichloroethene.
Acetone is a common laboratory contaminant that is not typically detected
in this well, so it will not be re-tested. This letter should serve as
notification of detection of the above VOCs and our intention to re-sample.
The re-sampling event will occur on June 22 or June 23, 2000.
If you have any questions regarding the above responses, please feel free to call me at
(209) 468-3066.
Sincerely,
e
OHNSON
Associate Civil Engineer
WJ:rh
N:\WES\FMGWMON\water_board_6-00.wpd
c: Robert McClellon, Environmental Health
LA 64201
