The landfill was inspected on 20 March 2002
with regards to Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 94-258 and NPDES General Industrial
Stormwater Permit. There were no areas of concern noted during the inspection.
MW-1,the upgradient well, detected trace VOCs in MW-1 (2-butanone 1.9 ppb) = 1"detection. This is
early evidence that VOCs are migrating upgradient in the groundwater from the unlined module of the
landfill. MW-3 detected tetrachlorethene at 0.097 ppb. Based upon the Boards request, an Evaluation
Monitoring Program was submitted May 2001.
Please ensure that comments in the attached Monitoring and Reporting Compliance Checklist are
addressed in the 1St quarter 2002 report and all subsequent reports.
If you have any questions or comments, please call me at (916) 255-3137.
KIM A.
